The title of this blog post is actually a pun, but you don't know why yet :-)
It started a couple of months ago when my son (a plumber) was on a rural road in his work van going the 50MPH speed limit. A car coming the other direction turned in front of him so close that he didn't even have time to hit his brakes. Amazingly enough, nobody in either vehicle was seriously hurt. Needless to say, the vehicle was totaled.
Then a few weeks ago my sister-in-law (who lives with us - I consider her part of the family) was on the interstate minding her own business when a semi coming the other direction jackknifed and hit the center divider so hard that a section of it broke loose and swung into her lane. She barely had time to hit the brakes before she slammed into it. Amazingly enough she only suffered a broken arm and some nasty bruises. Needless to say, the vehicle was totaled.
Then a few days ago my youngest daughter lost control of her car, spun and rolled. (There was a truck partially in her lane in a turn.) Amazingly enough, she only suffered minor bumps and bruises. Needless to say, the vehicle was totaled. This was her second rollover/total. She walked away from the first one too. I hope she appreciates how lucky she is...
So in the past couple of months half of the people in my immediate family have been in collisions that totaled their vehicle and they all survived relatively unscathed... This is totally not helping with my anxiety issues (pun intended) - things that don't make sense really annoy me :-)
BTW - I'm working on the blog entry about my aunts. It should be forthcoming within a day or two...

Ha. Okay. I forgive you for not feeding my desire for more, more, more!! Seriously, I hope all is well, and that all these accidents have more than made up, statistically, for the number of accidents you and your family are "due" in this life. Wow. I am so glad that so little harm was done (apart from all that TOTALLING).
Take care of yourself. Write something soon (but no hassle, honest)
That's fine - your blog provided me with over a year of entertainment and I'm more than happy to return the favor. I'm just surprised you find this stuff entertaining :-)
And all those accidents - I can consciously rationalize them all away but that doesn't stop them from messing with me on a subconscious level.
Plus now I feel bad for complaining that we had too many vehicles around (especially since none of my personal SIX were involved).
